"Who are You?"

"Who are You?" oil on 8x10 board
North Halton Kitten Rescue.

We have a lot of admiration for this rescue they work extremely hard to save many kittens and cats over a year. This particular little one really went straight to my heart, his expression did it for me.  He was found with his sister who is all black they were  in pretty poor shape when found but the Rescue girls took them in and now look  healthy and ready  to love. They were out and about last weekend
this picture shows how cute they all are:

I hope they will all find their homes and live a comfortable and happy life! can you pick him out?

He is quite a colourful  kitten and very difficult to get his fur/whiskers looking quite right with perseverance I think the result looks like him it's the eyes though that makes him special .

I believe the kittens picture was taken just after they were brought to the Rescue Centre he's growing very quickly.
8 x 10 oils on board.

"Scrapper" the cat

"Scrapper" oil on 8x10 board

A Commission

A rescue that just made it, they named her Scrapper
They found this lovely cat, about 4 weeks old, in a Dump, she was making enough noise they were able to find her just in time, she was so small and fit in the rescuers hand.
Now a very loving 2 year old lucky to find a good home and well loved too!

Not an easy creature to paint though, the photo was very monotone, so I had to interpret a bit.

House in the Woods

House in the woods, oil on 11x14 board
This was a commission finished a few weeks ago. It was quite a challenge painting from an old 4x6 photo, but as I got into it I began to enjoy the process, trying to paint as fast and loose as possible.

The dappled shadows were the big challenge!

The client was delighted which made my day and from the fee we made a donation to North Halton Kitten Rescue:

"Pumpkin" and a Happy Tail

"Pumpkin" Pencil pastel

I have used pastel pencil once sometime ago which I quite enjoyed, it is a good idea to introduce another medium for me as I am very keen on oils and make excuses not to change what I had become accustomed to.

Yesterday on Facebook North Halton Kitten rescue showed a little cat who had been adopted her name was Aphrodite, she was lucky and someone adopted her they renamed Pumpkin she has beautiful eyes and certainly looked friendly.

I think she will have a happy life.

I decided to try the pastel pencils and worked on a picture of her, I enjoyed the time I spent learning to use pastel It's very different, this picture is a learning experience so I decided to make Pumpkin famous for a little longer and have her back on Facebook with my effort.
